Info
<>T (Diamond Terrifier) is Sam Hillmer of ZS. <>T is Sam’s saxophone and electronics solo incarnation. Named after the English translation of the indo-tibetan god-name Vajrabairahva, Diamond Terrifier is concerned with the potential positive qualities of destruction as mediated by noise/drone sheets of sound music. Hillmer’s debut release ‘Himalayan Appalachia’ appeared September 2011 and been followed by the ‘Shrine Flu’ tape on Words+Dreams. This years August, the full length LP  ‘KILL THE SELF THAT WANTS TO KILL YOUR SELF’ was released by Northern Spy (home to Extra Life, ZS, USAISAMONSTER etc.) produced by the formidable rocker Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear.

“(…) ein Saxophon, ein paar Pedale und, nun ja, lassen wir ihn selbst sprechen: Die Vermittlung von spiritueller Paranoia und spirituellem Materialismus mit den entsprechenden politischen und ökonomischen Gegenstücken.” – TAZ

KTSTWTKY album review on Tiny Mixtapes.

“There are two kinds of avant-garde sound makers: those who view their work as Serious Art, best experienced under monastic conditions, and those who refuse to accept the idea that experimental music can’t be a party. If you side with the latter camp, you need to have Sam Hillmer on cultural speed dial.” - Time Out NY

“Good shit.” - Noisey (Exclusive Premier feature)

“Hillmer is a formidable artist who combines contemporary classical, art rock and free improv. But beyond these accomplishments, he’s an invaluable unifying force in the local avant-garde.” - Time Out NY

“Sam Hillmer’s tenor saxophone chases it’s tail in hypnotic circles and then leaps up into a stuttering morse code of broken yelps.” - Wire Magazine

“How about you take a break from listening to your sappy heartbreak love songs and get fucking CEREBRAL by checking out my main squeeze <>T’s hot new tape, Shrine Flu.” - Tiny Mix Tapes

“…the initially note-less breathing eventually attaches to a recognizable sax vibration.” - Tiny Mix Tapes
